The MDC Mission
The Metropolitan development Council (MDC) is a non-profit Community Action Partnership. It was founded in 1964 with a mission to develop innovative programs that promote self-sufficiency and remove individuals and families from poverty.
MDC offers services in over 40 programs through Education, Family Services, Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Housing, Homeless Services, Economic and Career Development and Prevention.
MDC staff provides comprehensive and individualized attention to clients who need assistance in more than one area of their lives. The structure of MDC provides for efficient communication, referral, and case management services to ensure clients receive the most comprehensive and effective support towards self-sufficiency.
